Shaping a New Generation of ABA Clinicians

“Our Autism + Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) team may be small, but we’re strong and dedicated!”

Amanda

My name is Amanda, M.S.Ed, BCBA, LBA and I have the privilege of being the Apprenticeship and Training Coordinator for our organization. In this role, I help guide and support team members interested in pursuing a career in ABA, while also helping our program grow. I’m excited to share details about our Student Program.

The Easterseals PORT Health Student Program provides students with an opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience in ABA while being closely supervised by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Our students participate in a full training plan created by an expert BCBA-D. The program includes clear systems for tracking progress, group learning sessions and chances to attend conferences and present their learnings.

Our unique program also gives students a rare chance to learn directly from an experienced BCBA, practicing the real-world skills they’ll need in their future career. There’s no requirement to work with us after graduation, but we do have exciting job opportunities for new BCBAs once they finish their training.

Unlike many other programs, our students do not pay any supervision fees. Plus, the hours they spend on administrative tasks count toward their required experience. Students who already have at least 1,000 hours can then also apply to participate in our Apprentice Program where they’ll learn and practice as junior BCBAs under the close supervision of an experienced BCBA.

If you’re working toward becoming a BCBA, let’s connect. Learn more about our team at eastersealsport.com/aba-team. You can also email us directly at autism@eastersealsPORT.com.
