Finding a job can be challenging for some people, especially Veterans and people with disabilities. This has led to higher rates of unemployment and underemployment for them compared to others. Easterseals PORT Health and AbilityLinks are teaming up to break down barriers of access to meaningful employment opportunities for Veterans and people with disabilities.
AbilityLinks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between people with disabilities, Veterans and inclusive employers. Working together, the two organizations will bring more job opportunities to the communities they support.
“We are very excited about this partnership and look forward to recruiting more Veterans and candidates with disabilities to our organization. AbilityLinks expands our reach, hiring potential and the opportunity to connect with the immense potential and untapped talent of this community,” says Maribel Anaya-Hammer, Easterseals PORT Health’s Chief People Officer.
Each year thousands of job seekers utilize AbilityLinks to apply for positions at top companies like Amazon, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Northwestern Medicine and more. AbilityLinks provides an inclusive and accessible portal for disabled and Veteran job seekers to easily explore employment opportunities (where many are tailored to their skills, abilities and career aspirations). AbilityLinks also provides candidates with resources for professional development, career readiness and career guidance. In addition, they provide DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility) resources for employers.
“A great job can provide an individual with purpose, dignity and joy along with the means to live independently,” says Kate Becks, AbilityLinks Client Service Manager. “We are excited to partner with Easterseals PORT Health in creating inclusive opportunities where diversity is embraced and Veterans and people with disabilities are empowered to succeed in their careers.
