We’re so excited you’re considering Camp Easterseals Virginia. Our overnight camp is designed for children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. We believe every camper deserves the opportunity to enjoy a true summer camp experience. From swimming and canoeing to talent shows and campfires, our activities are thoughtfully adapted for all abilities. Our compassionate, trained staff provide assistance as needed while encouraging independence and personal growth in a safe, supportive environment.

How to apply to Camp Easterseals Virginia

We use Camp Brain for online Camp Easterseals Virginia Registration. If you already have an account, you can login using your email address and password. If you are a first-time camper, please follow the instructions to create a new account.

  1. Go to the registration site and sign in as yourself: the parent, guardian or independent camper. Campers age 18 and over who are their own guardian or parents/caregivers can complete registration.
  2. Complete the household information form.
  3. Apply for the camp you are interested in.
  4. After completing the application online you will need to have our medical form completed by a doctor based on a visit within 12 months of camp. A completed medical form must be uploaded or mailed 4 weeks prior to arrival. If medical forms are not received, acceptance to camp will be rescinded.

Applying to camp places your camper on the waiting list for the selected camp session. Campers are accepted based on staffing, cabin capacity and our ability to meet camper’s needs. It typically take up to 6 weeks to process applications. Campers that are accepted will receive an email with acceptance information and next steps.

We believe all children and adults living with disabilities should have an opportunity to participate in traditional camp activities. Our knowledgeable staff and accessible camp facility can accommodate campers with a wide range of abilities.

To maximize the experience of all campers, these are the following eligibility requirements for attending Camp Easterseals Virginia:

  • Children and adults with disabilities (ages 8 and older, except for family weeks)
  • Camper must have the ability to control harmful behaviors (biting, pinching, swearing, etc.)
  • Camper must be able to sleep, or sit quietly, for a reasonable amount of time throughout the night
  • Ability to live in a group setting with other campers with various disabilities
  • Willingness to accept personal care from trained Camp Counselors
  • Camper must be able to participate in both indoor and outdoor activities
  • Camper must not be considered medically fragile (in need of oxygen, continuous tube feeding, etc.)
  • Able to eat meals traditionally found in a camp setting or bring own food
  • Desire to have a great summer experience!
