Camp Easterseals, set in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains of New Castle, Virginia, is looking for a dynamic and creative Camp Director to join our team!
 

*This is a hybrid position involving camp, office, and home working environments.

What You’ll Do

The Camp Director is responsible for overseeing camp program operations, including administration, staff supervision, fiscal management, and community engagement. Additionally, the Camp Director contributes to the development of long-term program strategies and implements innovative improvements to enhance the overall quality of camp programming. The position will stay onsite during the summer, respite weekends, and other times as needed.

What We’re Looking For

To join our team, you must have experience working with those living with disabilities, extensive knowledge and skills in therapeutic programming, a sense of humor,  and a passion to help others. We also require the following:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an USDOE/CHEA accredited institution in therapeutic recreation (CTRS desirable), special education, adapted physical education, health & human services, or related field
  • Minimum of two years supervisory or administrative experience working at a camp
  • Certifications in various life/water safety skills – CPR, NCI, lifeguard, etc. preferred
  • Ability to provide or acquire self transportation, including overnight travel if necessary for conducting the program’s objectives in different geographical regions of the state.
  • Willingness to work with a diverse group of people including people with varying abilities and cultural backgrounds.
