Direct Support Professional / DSP

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals. 

Position details:

 PRN shifts available : Monday from 8am to Wednesday at 4pm, Wednesday from 4pm till Saturday at 8am & weekends from Saturday at 8am till Monday at 8am (please note as this is a PRN shift, it could be anytime and isn’t necessarily a full shift).  

You are required to stay on site for the duration of your shift & clock out to sleep each night for 8hrs. In the event you had to get up in the night to assist a resident you would be compensated for your time. Guests & pets are not allowed. Overtime is occasionally available on site, but regularly available at regional group homes for those looking for extra hours. This would be working at our Mental Health Group Home located in Albemarle.

Your Role in Our Mission

  •  You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
  •  Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
  •  You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
  • Help plan and organize their schedule
  •  Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record

What We’re Looking For 

  • Experience: entry-level, on-the-job training is provided
  • Education: A High school diploma or GED is required 
  • Knowledge: basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols
  • Skills: Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
  • Technology: Proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy to learn 
  • Transportation: DSPs must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance
