Spring 2024 internship

Easterseals UCP, is a non-profit service provider in North Carolina & Virginia. We are seeking a compassionate, caring, and dedicated intern to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary, Community Support Team (CST) for a Spring internship.

What You’ll Do

Easterseals’ Community Support team is designed to carry out a full range of community-based treatment functions for adults with mental health challenges and/or co-occurring substance-use disorders. As an intern, you will participate on a team to coordinate initial assessment and the development of the Person-Centered Plan (PCP) and will participate in therapy sessions that involve the individuals being treated. You will also utilize the CST analytic process to revise strategies and treatment planning, provide modeling reinforcement, redirection and guidance to help develop the independence of the person served.

How You’ll Benefit

This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, you will learn how to use skills acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting to gain a better understanding of an CST team Member.

What We’re Looking For

To join our team, you must be currently enrolled in a mental health undergraduate or graduate program preferably in social work or clinical counseling. We are also seeking interns with the below skills:

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and internet applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
