We are seeking a motivated and passionate intern to support our Learning and Development team. This is an opportunity to work with a team that is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals through compassionate and innovative behavioral health, psychiatric and IDD services. Our Learning and Development team plays a crucial role in equipping our staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the best care possible.
What You’ll Do
This internship will provide hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that promote professional growth and development within our agency. The intern will have an opportunity to learn how to develop and work within a robust Learning Management System (LMS). There may be opportunities to facilitate training based on knowledge, skills and abilities.
Training Development: Assist in the creation of training materials, presentations, and resources for staff development programs.
Program Support: Help coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars, ensuring a smooth execution of events.
Needs Assessment: Conduct surveys and gather feedback from staff to identify training needs and areas for improvement.
Research: Explore best practices and current trends in behavioral health training and development to inform program enhancements.
Evaluation: Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs through data collection and analysis, preparing reports on findings.
Administrative Tasks: Support the department with administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining training records, and managing communication with staff.

What We’re Looking For
To join our team, you must be currently enrolled in a Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Educational Technology or Adult Education. To be successful in your internship, you must possess the below skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Passion for learning and development in the behavioral health field.
- Candidates will need to live in the Eastern part of North Carolina in the heart of the service area
- Please note that this is an unpaid internship.
