Mobile Crisis Counselor

At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), we’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Mobile Crisis Counselor to join our team in Goldsboro, NC. As a valued member of our collaborative and supportive team, you will work together to transform the lives of individuals by providing a comprehensive range of services that treat the whole person and empower patients to find their way forward.

Monday- Friday First Shift:

7am-3pm or 9:30am-5:30pm

What You’ll Do

Easterseals’ Mobile Crisis program is a crisis intervention and stabilization system that works in collaboration with other agencies to provide a coordinated response to an individual’s crisis. As a Mobile Crisis Counselor, you will need to respond to dispatches immediately, complete assessments and interventions to address each crisis as well as transporting the individual in crisis as needed. In addition, you will assist the individual and their support system in the development of a crisis plan to increase coping skills and provide for safe resolution of future crisis events.

What We’re Looking For

To join our team, you must be willing to provide in-person care in the homes and in various community settings within Kenansville and Clinton (must reside with-in one of these locations as well), rotate crisis responder coverage, have a passion for helping others, have experience with diffusing crisis, and able to link clients to community resources. We also require the following:

  • Must meet the minimum standards of a NC qualified professional
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field  
    • Two years’ experience in crisis with the MH/SA population-internships count.
  • A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, a good driving record and reliable transportation
