Prevention Specialist

At Easterseals PORT Health, we’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Prevention Specialist to join our team in Pitt and Craven OR Wilson and Greene counties. 

What You’ll Do 

As a Prevention Specialist, you’ll play a key role in educating youth in school settings about substance use prevention through evidence-based strategies. Your efforts will focus on delaying and preventing first-time use and reducing substance use in our community. You’ll collaborate with local agencies to create a comprehensive range of prevention services and provide training and consultation for professionals and community members alike. This is a grant-funded position until September 2025, with the potential for extension.

Enjoy a flexible Monday-Friday, 40-hour work with some occasional evening and weekend work. This is a hybrid, community-based role, requiring candidates to work in Pitt and Craven OR Wilson and Greene counties. We also offer competitive benefits to benefits-eligible positions.

What We’re Looking For 

To join our team as a Prevention Specialist, you must demonstrate sound judgment, knowledge of alternatives to restrictive interventions, and possess strong communication skills. We also require the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
    • Human Service and Public Health degrees preferred
  • Maintain valid NC driver’s license and auto insurance
