Disability Pride Month is celebrated every July to recognize the incredible disability community and to commemorate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990.

Jacob enjoys helping out!
Easterseals PORT Health’s Individual + Community Services (ICS) team provides personalized support for individuals with developmental disabilities and helps families access community resources. Alicia is an ICS Program Manager and believes “Celebrating this critical month affirms that a disability never limits a person’s potential. It’s important to highlight their strengths, resilience and the powerful impact they have on our communities.”
Alicia also introduced us to Jacob, who receives services from our ICS team in Salisbury, NC. He enjoys spending time with Marva, his Direct Service Provider, engaging with the community and making new friends. In addition, Jacob generously volunteers his time to help clean the ICS office. “We’re proud to acknowledge his hard work and dedication. He is eager to please and always does his very best” shares Alicia. “Jacob is very communicative about the work he’s doing and continually follows up by asking if there’s anything else he can help with.
Thank you, Jacob for volunteering your time to help out at the ICS office. Thank you Alicia, for the dedication and commitment you and your team provide to the individuals we support each and every day. Learn more about ICS at eastersealsPORT.com/individual-and-community-services.
