Providing family peer support, advocacy and resources
Easterseals PORT Health’s IDD Family Peer Support promotes group services for parents and caregivers of people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. We connect families with much needed resources, advocate for them and help them make connections with their peers in local communities throughout North Carolina.
Our team of experts facilitate monthly virtual peer support meet ups which you can register for down below or sign up to learn more.
The Individual and Community Services team supports individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and severe emotionally disturbed/serious mental illness. We provide one-to-one and group services uniquely tailored to help each unique family acquire and maintain resources for social determinants of health.
Family Peer Support provides much needed support to families, parents and caregivers of individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges. We also promote and coordinate the use of general resources to address needs, develop social networks and connections within local communities.
