Substance Use Prevention

Educating our communities

Our Prevention activities work to educate and support individuals, families and communities to prevent the use and misuse of drugs. Our goal is to help eliminate first time and ongoing substance use among young people.

Prevention and early intervention strategies can reduce the impact of substance use and mental disorders in America’s communities. Our Substance Use Prevention team shares information about protective factors that help promote healthier lifestyles for young people and their families, while reducing the risk of adverse childhood experiences. Our team’s collaborative approach to comprehensive community wellness has a track record of proven success.

Our free Prevention trainings are provided to young people and adults. These evidenced based Prevention trainings address a variety of topics:

  • Social skills.
  • Effective communication.
  • Decision making.
  • Goal setting.
  • Anger management.

We help individuals, families and communities become more resilient by serving on local coalitions and participating in a variety of community engagement activities.

We want to partner with you! Our Prevention services are available at no cost. We encourage organizations planning activities in the community to reach out to us.
