Ashley and McKenzie
National Recovery Month 2025

National Recovery Month is observed every September. It raises awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders and celebrates people in recovery. It’s a time to share stories of hope that demonstrate how treatment, caring providers and community support make recovery possible! This year, Ashley shared her journey to recovery.

“Addiction is a disease and it doesn’t simply go away. You have to keep moving forward, stay faithful and remain accountable. I am deeply grateful for the support I received to be where I am today.” – Ashley

Ashley, who is a proud mom to her daughter McKenzie, found strength and healing through Easterseals PORT Health’s Outpatient Services. As both a new mother and someone in recovery, she gained the tools and support she needed to become the mom she always dreamed of being. Ashley is celebrating 11 years in recovery!
